Peter Devries

Peter DeVries | Chief Executive Officer

Peter DeVries has been innovating across the technology space for 25 years, focused on building industry leading and enterprise-scale SaaS products. Since 2008, Peter has been a leader in the EdTech industry, serving in a variety of executive leadership roles with Modern Campus, including President and COO since 2018. Peter’s vision to help colleges and universities attract, engage, and retain learners for life has resulted in the creation of cutting-edge software solutions to enable a modern student experience. Peter earned his Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo, with joint honors in Computer Science and Economics. He’s also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Risk Management Professional, among numerous professional designations.

Eric Bluhm

Eric Bluhm | Chief Revenue Officer

Eric Bluhm is the Chief Revenue Officer at Modern Campus, having joined the company in 2023. He is focused on building and expanding high-quality customer relationships and improving revenue processes and operations. Eric joined Modern Campus from Ease, where he served as Chief Revenue Officer. A seasoned sales executive, Eric has helped numerous software organizations transform while scaling growth throughout his career. He earned his BSc in Organizational Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Jerome Snell

Jerome Snell | Chief Technology Officer

Jerome Snell joined Modern Campus in 2024 as the Chief Technology Officer to lead the the technology and customer success teams. He brings 25+ years of product technology experience scaling companies in the EdTech, FinTech, and e-commerce industries. Most recently, Jerome was the Chief Technology Officer at Parchment where he led the technology team through the successful acquisition by Instructure. In addition, Jerome is a member of the advisory board for i.c.stars transforming the lives of underserved young adults with technology training and career placement. He holds a BA in Business Information Systems from the University of Washington and an MBA from the Rady School of Management at the University of California San Diego.

Jessica Phinn

Jessica Phinn | Chief People Officer

Jessica Phinn joined Modern Campus in 2022 as the Chief People Officer. Previously, Jessica was the Senior Vice President of People and Engagement for Nelson Education, where she was also Vice President and Director of People and Engagement. Jessica was also the Senior Director of Human Resources for Loblaw Companies Limited, one of the largest supermarket operators in Canada, and the Human Resources Manager for Pepsi Bottling Group. Jessica has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources from York University, and studied Chemistry at Western University.

Rick Bakewell

Rick Bakewell | Chief Financial Officer

Rick Bakewell is the Chief Financial Officer of Modern Campus since joining in early 2022. He oversees all financial aspects of Modern Campus, including finance, accounting, tax, treasury and legal. He has a wealth of experience across more than 25 years in technology and services industries, specializing in operational efficiency improvements, financing and capital raising initiatives, and mergers and acquisitions. He most recently served as chief financial officer at Benefitexpress, a cloud-based benefits administration technology and human resources services provider (acquired by WEX Inc.). Prior CFO roles include Fruition Partners (acquired by DXC Technology), NTT Data Americas, The Revere Group, and others. He is a Certified Public Accountant and received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Illinois Wesleyan University.

Jennifer Horton

Jennifer Horton | Senior Vice President, Marketing

Jen is a marketing executive with more than 25 years of experience in high-growth b-to-b organizations. Jen leads all aspects of Modern Campus marketing and is passionate about customer experience, product and solution marketing, sales and marketing process improvement, demand generation strategy and execution, and sales enablement. Prior to Modern Campus, Jen has held various marketing leader and advisor roles for companies such as InMoment, CultureIQ (acquired by Perceptyx), SiriusDecisions (acquired by Forrester Research), and Eloqua (acquired by Oracle). Jen received a BA in communication studies from Vanderbilt University with honors.

Jeremy Fleming

Jeremy Fleming | Senior Vice President, Professional Services

Jeremy Fleming is the Senior Vice President of Professional Services at Modern Campus, and has been with the company serving in a variety of customer-facing leadership roles since 2014. In his current role, Jeremy oversees over 100 highly-skilled team members who support organizational offerings including implementation, consulting, design, managed services, and a variety of value-added services. Jeremy previously held leadership positions with the Toronto Pan/Parapan American Games Organizing Committee, Bell Canada, and Dell. Jeremy earned his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Organization Behaviour from the University of Guelph.

Kimberly Prieto

Kimberly Prieto | Senior Vice President, Product

Kimberly joined Modern Campus in October 2017.  She is passionate about education and building products that enable institutions to exceed their enrollment and engagement objectives.  Prior to joining Modern Campus, Kimberly held positions in product management, business development, corporate strategy, and innovation at NCR Corporation, Digital Insight, Intuit and Deutsche Bank.  She holds a BS in business from the University of Illinois and an MBA from New York University.

Erin Theophanous

Erin Theophanous | Vice President, Revenue Operations

Erin joined Modern Campus in 2022 as the Vice President of Revenue Operations. Prior to joining Modern Campus, she has held positions across a variety of operation functions including building a full revenue operations team at D2L (Brightspace). Prior to joining the education technology industry, Erin also held operations positions at OpenText and Blackberry with a focus on M&A, operations efficiencies, and business processes. Erin earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a double concentration in Accounting and Operations Management from Brock University. In addition, she holds a Business Diploma from Conestoga College and is a certified a Project Management Professional..
