A higher ed website redesign can feel daunting, especially when a small team is responsible for years of content, competing campus priorities, and an experience that needs to work better for students.

Join Patrick Wauschek of Trinity Valley Community College (TVCC) and Modern Campus for a candid look at how a team of three took on a major website redesign and made the work manageable.

Patrick will share how TVCC stepped back from its existing website, determined what its audiences, rethought the site structure, and rebuilt the experience with greater intention. You’ll hear what helped the team stay focused through the process, where the right CMS and partner made a difference, and what they learned once it was time to launch.

Key Takeaways:
  • Make the redesign manageable. See how a smaller team approached a large website project without losing sight of the bigger goal.
  • Design around the right audience. Learn how TVCC made clearer decisions about content, structure, and the overall web experience.
  • Know where partnership matters. Hear how the right technology, higher ed expertise, and responsive support helped move the project forward with confidence.

About the speakers:

Ellyse Sanchez, MA, is a Project Manager at Modern Campus on the CMS Professional Services team. Before joining Modern Campus, she spent more than 10 years working in higher education across student affairs, financial aid, student engagement, educational technology, and program management. That firsthand institutional experience gives Ellyse a deep understanding of the priorities, pressures, and internal dynamics her customers navigate. It allows her to relate to their challenges on a more meaningful level, anticipate needs, and approach each project as both a strategic partner and an advocate for their goals. At Modern Campus, Ellyse guides institutions through the full project lifecycle—from planning and stakeholder alignment to implementation, content migration, user acceptance testing, and launch—while building trusted relationships and keeping the customer experience at the center of the work.

Patrick (PDubs) is a techie that loves front-end development and rolling up his sleeves to tinker with cars and farm work. He graduated with a Computer Science degree from Towson University in Baltimore, MD. His conversations are littered with references to theatre and puns that usually don't land well. Despite this, he is a perfect fit in the Marketing department to help Trinity Valley Community College be #1!
