Understanding PCI DSS Compliance
The PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) is established by a council representing major global card networks–including American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and JCB–to secure card and cardholder data. Unlike other PCI levels, which may only require a Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ), Level 1 compliance mandates a comprehensive annual audit by a qualified security assessor (QSA).
